As many as 16 cases were registered and multiple contrabands were seized by the Delhi Police based on calls on the MANAS app since its launch in January 2025.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the National Narcotics Helpline Portal, MANAS (Madak Padarth Nishedh Asuchna Kendra), during the 7th Apex Level NCORD meeting. Subsequently, the Regional Conference on Drug Trafficking and National Security expanded MANAS to be an emerging public interface for reporting drug-related offences across the country on January 11.

“As of August 6, 2025, a total of 16 actionable tickets resulted in the recovery of contraband substances, including heroin, ganja, psychotropic tablets, injectables, and liquor, leading to the registration of cases under the NDPS Act, the Excise Act, the IPC, and the Gambling Act across various police stations in Delhi. ANTF [Anti-Narcotic Task Force ], Crime Branch, also independently conducted follow-up raids on leads received via the MANAS Portal,” said Devesh Chandra Srivastava, Special Commissioner of Police.

The police said more than 180 gm of heroin and over 3,700 gm of ganja were recovered from various locations such as Burari, Anand Parbat, and Aman Vihar after they received leads on the MANAS portal. A significant amount of buprenorphine/Avil injections and liquor was also recovered at locations such as Vijay Vihar, Ranhola, etc, they added.

Citizens of Delhi can call on the dedicated toll-free number, 1933, and use an online forum to report any information related to narcotics anonymously and safely. The Delhi Police urged citizens to report any suspicious narcotic activity through the MANAS portal.
