Delhi News Live Updates: Best time to invest, innovate and make in India, says PM Modi at IMC 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday renewed his pitch for Make in India across sectors -- from mobiles to semiconductors and electronics, saying the government is accelerating the pace of reforms, offering the best investment opportunities.

Speaking at the inauguration of India Mobile Congress here, he said India's democratic setup, the government's welcoming approach and ease of doing business policies have helped the country attain an image of an investor-friendly destination.

"This is the best time to invest, innovate and make in India," he said.

India has launched its Made in India 4G Stack, joining select five countries globally that possess this capability, says PM Modi at IMC 2025. India which once struggled with 2G, now has 5G mobile connectivity in almost all districts, he added. 

PM Modi says, “A lot of our startups gave presentations on important issues - financial fraud prevention, quantum communication, optical communication, semiconductors and others. I am assured that India’s tech future is in the right hands. This IMC event isn’t just limited to mobile and telecom but has become Asia’s biggest digital technology forum in a few years.”

Ahead of the onset of winters, the Public Works Department (PWD) has started preparing to tackle the dust and vehicular pollution on roads by deploying water sprinklers and anti-smog guns in Delhi, said officials.

According to a senior PWD official, the department has floated tenders to hire over 100 anti-smog guns mounted on trucks and water sprinklers. These are expected to be deployed across the city roads after Diwali, which is set to be celebrated on October 20.

Speaking at IMC 2025, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, "Just last week, the PM unveiled one lakh towers across the length and breadth of the country, built in India, built for India, but also built for the world... As the PM has said many times, ‘Vocal for local, and local to global'”

Delhi on Wednesday morning recorded a minimum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature expected to go up to 26 degrees Celsius. While the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that rain will take a halt in the capital today, it is likely that Delhi will witness a temperature dip on Wednesday.

After a day of continuous rainfall across Delhi and parts of NCR, the national capital woke up to light fog and a significant temperature dip. The air quality of Delhi also saw a significant improvement, with the AQI as low as 50 in parts of the national capital.

Organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), IMC 2025 will be held from Oct 8 to 11 under the theme ‘Innovate to Transform’. Delegates from Japan, Canada, UK, Russia, Ireland and Austria are also participating in the event.
