The Delhi government has directed officials to complete the renovation of 2,416 ready flats in Sawda Ghevra by January 15. Officials noted that the allocation for the flats will begin only after water, electricity, sanitation and other basic services are made operational. The directive was issued at the 34th Board Meeting of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
The meeting reviewed slum rehabilitation, progress of the Atal Canteen Project, as well as expansion of facilities in DUSIB colonies. Approvals were also granted for major renovation works in several areas, including the repair of flats in Sultanpuri, renovation of flats in Dwarka, and repair works in Bhalswa. The board also approved the establishment of 124 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in DUSIB colonies.
Further, Officials were instructed to ensure e-rickshaw charging stations, adequate parking, and essential commercial facilities like vegetable booths, milk kiosks and daily-needs shops. Comprehensive layout plans for all projects will be presented in the next meeting, according to a press note from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
