Delhi: Amid fight over picking passengers, e-rickshaw driver stabbed to death

An e-rickshaw driver was stabbed to death by another near the Dwarka Metro station on Sunday while he was trying to stop a fight over picking passengers, said police.

Police identified the deceased as Mohit (35). The accused driver, Tejraj Joshi (27), was arrested on Monday.

Officers said the incident happened when an argument broke out between e-rickshaw drivers Sunil Kumar and Tejraj.

As Mohit (35) intervened, Tejraj entered into an argument with him, which resulted in physical violence. “Tejraj took out a sharp-edged weapon and stabbed Mohit,” an officer said.

Mohit was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, from where the doctors referred him to Safdarjung Hospital. Mohit succumbed to his injuries during treatment, the officer said.
