Delhi ‘Acid Attack’ Case: A 19-year-old Delhi University student was admitted to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital on Sunday with acid burn injuries. In a police complaint, she alleged that while she was walking towards a college for her extra classes in North West Delhi’s Ashok Vihar on Sunday, an acquaintance of hers came on a motorcycle, with two other men, and threw acid on her.
However, the police probe into the case has now revealed shocking details.
Here are 7 key revelations in Delhi ‘acid attack’ case
1) None of the three men, including the neighbour who was the main accused, were at the site of the incident in Northwest Delhi on Sunday where the DU student claimed that she was attacked, said police.
2) The motorcycle, which the complainant said was used in the attack, was also not in the area. The location of the vehicle matched with the area where the main accused was throughout the day.
3) Police said that both the other two men accused of throwing acid are in Agra with their mother, who was allegedly attacked with acid by the relatives of the 19-year-old.
4) The wife of the main accused had earlier filed a sexual assault and harassment complaint against DU student’s father. She claimed that the man had allegedly forced her into a sexual relationship while she was employed at his factory in Northwest Delhi.
5) The father has now been tracked and arrested in a rape case.
6) According to the police, the father admitted to falsely accusing his neighbour of the involvement in the acid attack. A police officer said that the father said his daughter was carrying toilet cleaner from home. She poured it on her hands herself.
7) CCTV footage recovered so far shows the complainant leaving her home on a scooty driven by her brother, who dropped her near the college. She was later seen travelling further in an e-rickshaw. “The reason why her brother did not drop her at the college gate after driving her all the way from home is being examined,” said the police.
