India will hold dry runs and mock exercises at the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre in Pragati Maidan, the summit venue of the G20 meeting to be held under India’s Presidency in September.
P K Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, led the Coordination Committee of the G20 Presidency on Monday to take stock of the venue and review the preparatory aspects of the upcoming summit and other meetings.
The committee took stock of all aspects related to protocol, security, airport coordination, media, infrastructure upgrade and arrangements in Delhi and neighbouring states. Mishra called on all agencies to work in a “whole of government” approach, to make the summit a success, a government statement said on Monday.
The committee has been authorised by the Cabinet to oversee all preparations and arrangements related to India’s Presidency of the G20 summit. Its sixth meeting was held on Monday.
The meeting also reviewed the G20 meetings held so far and those scheduled later. Under its Presi-dency, India has organised 170 meetings at 55 locations to date.
