Lucknow:The Uttar Pradesh government has referred the inquiry into the Noida farmhouse scandal,first reported by The Indian Express,to Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta N K Mehrotra. The alleged scandal took place during Mayawati regime. The decision came two weeks after the Noida Authority submitted a preliminary report on farmhouse scandal,alleging a loss of nearly Rs 1,000 crore to the state exchequer due to sale of farmhouse plots in violation of rules and norms.
Murder over beauty parlour,husband held
New Delhi:A 23-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband on Tuesday morning in Burari,North Delhi. Police said Radha wanted to open a beauty parlour and her husband,Deepak (26),was not happy about this. Deepak had gone to bring his wife back from her parents home in Kingsway Camp. When he reached there he got to know his wife and her mother had gone to visit a property that the couple had booked near their residence, said a senior police officer. At the site,Deepak and his wife had an argument,police said. He went away,but later returned with a knife and stabbed Radha to death,police said.
Seven-year-old raped in Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad:A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped in the early hours of Tuesday in a slum cluster in Shalimar Garden,Ghaziabad. Police said a case has been registered at the Sahibabad police station,but no arrest has been made so far. The victim was sleeping inside a jhuggi,and her parents outside. Around 3.30 am,the girl started screaming. Police were called and a medical examination confirmed rape.
Andhra woman rescued from red-light area
New Delhi:Police on Tuesday claimed to have rescued a 27-year-old woman who was lured into the city on pretext of a job,but forced into prostitution. According to police,the victim belongs to Andhra Pradesh and was rescued from a red-light area in the city after her mother approached police on Monday. We conducted a raid and rescued the woman. She belongs to a very poor family and was lured in to the city by a woman in her village with the promise of a job. However,she was then sold in the red-light area, Additional Commissioner of Police (Central) Devesh Chandra Srivastava said.
