Unidentified people on Sunday stole a man’s car at gunpoint after assaulting him in Outer Delhi’s Mundka, officers said on Tuesday.  However, the police team that spotted the robbed car on Monday recovered it from Tikri Border after a long chase. Efforts are on to nab the accused people who abandoned the car and fled the spot, said the police.

According to the police, the complainant, Anil Kumar, parked his car near Ganga International School at Hirakudna around 5.30 pm on Sunday and went to his farm.

“Around 6 pm, when he came back and tried to start his vehicle, suddenly a person came and tried to take control of the steering of the car. When the man resisted, the unidentified man hit him with his helmet and took out a pistol from his waist,” said DCP (Outer) Harendra Singh.

In the meantime, two to three youngsters reached the spot, sat in the car, pushed Anil Kumar out of the car and all of them fled towards Rohtak Road, the DCP said.

The police, who reached the spot upon receiving a call, have registered a case and begun an investigation.
