The Mayor of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, Baiju Thittala, Thursday hailed the schools in the capital as he visited Dr BR Ambedkar School of Specialized Excellence in South Delhi’s Andrews Ganj, stated the ruling AAP in an official statement.

The Mayor toured the fine arts lab, sculpture lab, music room, and visual arts lab. “The changes in Delhi’s government schools are very positive. The facilities being provided to the children and the innovative ways in which teachers are teaching are highly commendable,” the statement quoted Thittala as saying.

Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj and former Cambridge University Students’ Union president Warish Pratap also participated in the tour. “Until now, the system focused on schools that aimed to make children doctors or engineers. But no one ever imagined that there would be schools where children’s talents are nurtured to decide they will become artists. Delhi government has made this dream come true through these schools specialising in Performing and Visual Arts,” Bharadwaj stated.
