BMW road rage: judicial custody for gunman,driver

The three accused in the Sector-56 road rage firing incident on Monday,gunman Anil,driver Radhika Prasad and Nitin Jain,were produced at the district court on Tuesday.

While 17-year-old Nitin was released on bail,the other accused have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

A case was registered at the Sector-56 police station against the three under sections 307 (attempt to murder),506 and 427 (threat and damage to property) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act,on the complaint of one Vikram Singh,a resident of Damdama in Gurgaon.

He has alleged that the accused opened fire at him when his Indica brushed past the BMW the accused were travelling in.

Anil allegedly fired thrice at the occupants of the Indica. “None of the occupants were injured but the car’s rear windshield was smashed. The accused fled after a crowd gathered at the spot,” the police said.

They were later intercepted at a police checkpoint near Gwalpadi Village and were arrested.

The police have recovered the pistol used by Anil. Nitin is the son of Misrilal Jain,a businessman based in Delhi and the BMW is registered under the name of Empire Estate,Sultanpur in Delhi.
