BJP launches ‘Selfie with Narendra Modi’ to woo young voters in Delhi

The first such 'Selfie with Modi' booth was on Saturday inaugurated by BJP President Amit Shah at Central Delhi's Khan Market.

In a two-pronged strategy of using both its chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to campaign for the Delhi Assembly polls, the BJP has devised a new way to attract voters — get a selfie clicked with Modi.

BJP president Amit Shah was the first person to click his selfie with Modi. He inaugurated the mobile application on Saturday at Khan Market. The application is equipped with a software to create an ‘augmented reality’, which will be used to create the selfie.

The party also launched a “first of 200 selfies with Modi” wall in Khan Market. Modi had taken a selfie soon after casting his vote in the Lok Sabha elections.

The directions, which came from party’s national unit, prompted the Delhi BJP to launch this campaign in every Assembly segment in the city.

The party is also planning to launch this application in the Assembly constituencies during its 70 roadshows.

Delhi BJP general secretary Ashish Sood said these selfie corners will be launched in over 200 places and said the party wants to tap urban voters, especially the youth.

“Along with prominent market places, selfie corners or walls will be set up in malls and other places. The roadshows will also have this facility. Once people get their selfie clicked, we will take their email ids and mail the pictures to them,” Sood said.
