People across the country were “scared” after NCP leader Baba Siddique was gunned down in Mumbai, AAP national convener and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said Sunday. Referring to extortion calls and shootouts in Delhi, Kejriwal said that an atmosphere of fear was being created in the Capital, too.
Siddique (66), a former Maharashtra minister, was shot at by three men in Bandra area outside the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, Saturday night.
In a post on X, Kejriwal said, “The incident of killing of an NCP leader in public in Mumbai has scared the people not only in Maharashtra but the whole country. They have created an almost similar atmosphere in Delhi. They want to bring Gangster Raj in entire country. Public will now have to stand up to them.”
AAP has questioned the Centre and Lt-Governor VK Saxena over the law and order situation in Delhi several times over the past two years. In Delhi, which is a Union Territory with special powers, law and order and policing are under the Centre, via the Lt-Governor.
