At Kolkata cop’s Noida house,fire injures one

While Special Commissioner of Police,Kolkata,R K Pachnanda is busy with the aftermath of the blaze in Stephen Court,Kolkata,that left 30 dead,a cylinder blast inside the servant’s quarters at his house in Noida left one person injured.

While Special Commissioner of Police,Kolkata,R K Pachnanda is busy with the aftermath of the blaze in Stephen Court,Kolkata,that left 30 dead,a cylinder blast inside the servant’s quarters at his house in Noida left one person injured.

Hari Krishan Maheshwari,a tenant living in the house,informed the police about the fire around 3.30 am on Friday.

“We heard the sound of blast in the early hours. We came out of the house and saw the man who lives in the servant quarters,Anil Adhikari,was injured,” Maheshwari told the police.

Som Dutt,in-charge of the Sector-58 fire station,said it was a small fire and was extinguished soon.

“It seems the blast occurred because the man was smoking in the room,’ he said. “That might have triggered the fire.”.

Anil has been admitted to the district hospital with burns on his legs. “According to the doctor,he is out of danger,” Dutt said.

The tenants,when contacted,refused to divulge details about the owner of the house. Ashok K Singh,SSP,Gautam Budh Nagar confirmed that the house belongs to R K Pachnanda,Special Commissioner,Kolkata.

No case has been registered over the incident.
