New Delhi: Low-visibility conditions due to the dense fog disrupted flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport one again,forcing airlines to reschedule at least 10 flights on Tuesday morning. Nearly 50 international and domestic flights,scheduled to depart early in the day,were delayed by two hours. While Air India cancelled its flight to Leh and rescheduled 17 others,Jet Airways cancelled three flights and rescheduled five others.

Police bust fake visa racket,arrest four

New Delhi: The Delhi Police,on Tuesday,claimed to have busted a visa racket with the arrest of four “school friends”,including a DU graduate. The accused have been identified as Harvinder Singh,Pawan Kumar,Harish Kumar and Anil Arora. They were arrested after Manjeet Singh of Jalandhar complained that they cheated him of Rs 60,000 after promising him a Canadian visa.

Masked men rob medical store

New Delhi: Two masked men barged into a medical-cum-cellphone recharge store in East Krishna Nagar on Monday evening and robbed the owner,Deepak Kumar (28),and his friend of cash and mobile phones amounting to lakhs of rupees. The victims,who were assaulted,were taken to Hedgewar hospital for treatment.

Road caves in,causes traffic jam near CP

New Delhi: A traffic jam ensued on Tuesday afternoon after a part of KG Marg-Hailey Road intersection near Connaught Place caved in owing to leakage in a water pipeline underneath the road.

Basant Panchami celebrated

New Delhi: Anjuman Sair-E-Gul Faroshan,which organises the annual Phool Walon Ki Sair,celebrated Basant Panchami on Tuesday. Hindus and Muslims came together,wearing yellow turbans and garlands of yellow flowers,to celebrate the spring festival. The procession was led by Mayor Prithvi Raj Sawhney and Suman Gupta,MCD member.

Student stabbed outside E Delhi school

New Delhi: A 17-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed outside his school in Pandav Nagar,East Delhi,on Tuesday evening. The student is undergoing treatment at Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital,police said,adding that revenge seemed to be the motive behind the crime. However,no further information was available.
