A 27-year-old sales executive was allegedly stabbed to death by his friends after an argument broke out between them over a minor issue.
The deceased,identified as Ashish Kumar,was hit on his head with a sharp-edged weapon,police said.
According to police,a brawl at Christian Colony was reported to the PCR around 11:30 pm on Sunday night. The police said a local resident who heard a heated argument from inside one of the flats had reported the matter to the police control room. However,since it appeared as just a minor argument,the PCR officials did not intervene. An hour later,the police received a call from the Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital informing them that a man named Ashish had been brought dead after suffering multiple injuries.
Investigations revealed that Ashish had left his Khajuri Khas residence around 10 pm to meet his friends for dinner at Maurice Nagar. Police said Ashish had a heated argument with his friends over which car was better. The deceased owned a Hyundai Accent car and had reportedly drove the same to his friends house Maurice Nagar.
Romil Baaniya,Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest),said,We questioned the friends of the deceased and they have told us that the brawl was over which car was better. In a fit of rage,one of them allegedly hit Ashish with a sharp-edged weapon,killing him. His friends took him to the Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Baaniya said police were on the lookout for the principal accused,who is currently absconding. Ashish worked as a sales executive for the Mahindra company.
According to the official figures of the Delhi Police,around 17 per cent of the total murder cases in the Capital last year were due to trivial issues. On January 10,last month a 22-year-old man from Jharkhand was killed for demanding money for the kebab which he sold.
