Allahabad HC begins proceedings in Talwars’ bail plea

They have now moved an application with the request that they be released on bail for the period their appeal is pending.

The hearing on the bail plea of dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, who have been awarded life sentence for the murder of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, on Monday began before the Allahabad High Court.

A division bench, comprising Justice Rakesh Tiwari and Justice Anil Kumar Agarwal, ordered the matter be posted for further hearing on May 6.

The Noida-based dentist couple, awarded life sentence by a CBI court on November 26, 2013, had moved the High Court in January this year challenging their conviction.

They have now moved an application with the request that they be released on bail for the period their appeal is pending.
