Indians can now travel to the Philippines directly without the hassle of layovers. Air India launched the country’s first non-stop flight to the Southeast Asian country on Wednesday. The Delhi-Manila flight departed from Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The Air India flight was inaugurated in the presence of Josel F Ignacio, Ambassador of the Philippines to India, and Maria Cynthia P. Pelayo, Minister and Consul General at the Embassy of the Philippines in India. Senior officials from Air India were also present.

The Delhi–Manila service will operate five days a week — Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — using Airbus A321LR aircraft. Flight AI2362 will depart Delhi at 1:20 pm and arrive in Manila at 10:40 pm. The return flight, AI2361, will leave Manila at 11:40 pm and land in Delhi at 3:50 am the following day, the airline announced.

“The flights will cater to the increasing passenger movement between India and the Philippines, while also offering onward connectivity to Europe and North America through Delhi,” an Air India spokesperson said.

“The launch of non-stop flights to Manila unlocks immense potential for tourism to the Philippines, as Indi travellers — with their growing appetite for leisure travel and increasing spending power — seek new and exciting destinations,” said Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Air India.

Wilson added that the new services will help showcase the Philippines’ vibrant culture and stunning landscapes to Indian travellers, while also fostering greater trade and cultural exchange, thereby strengthening the bonds between the two nations.

The airline stated that the new service expands its footprint in Southeast Asia, where it now connects to eight destinations across seven countries. It reiterated that the flights will support growing passenger movement between India and the Philippines, while also enhancing onward connectivity to Europe and North America via Delhi.
