An 18-year-old B.Tech student, admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar,on Wednesday alleged that a doctor along with a compounder had tried to rape her while she was sleeping.

According to the police, the girl,a resident of new Arya Nagar,Ghaziabad, was admitted to Yashoda Hospital on July 14 as she had “in ignorance” consumed acid. The doctors had rushed the girl to the Intensive Care Unit after examining her.

In her FIR,filed today in Sahani Gate police station, the girl alleged that one doctor,Anek Kumar, and his compounder,Zafar, allegedly tried to rape her. “They came into my room and started forcing themselves on me. They tried to inject me with some substance. I struggled and shouted. My parents and few others saw them running out of my room. They came to me and I told them about the incident.”

The hospital authorities, however, refused to comment on the incident. The victim’s father,Anil Kumar, also alleged that the owner of the hospital,Dinesh Arora, misbehaved with them and threatened them with dire consequences if they approach the police. “I called up Dinesh Arora and told him about the incident. Rather than taking action against the accused,he started threatening us,” said Anil Kumar in the FIR.

The police have arrested Zafar, while Anek Kumar is yet to be arrested. “We are investigating the case. The Yashoda Hospital authorities, too, have lodged a counter-FIR accusing the patient’s family of rioting and damaging the hospital property. A case of attempt to rape against three Yashoda Hospital staff members has been lodged,” said Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi,SHO,Sihani Gate.
