AAP MLAs hit the road to thank voters

Ministers went door-to-door to meet residents.

After a landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly polls, AAP MLAs hit the roads on Sunday and held public meetings and rallies to reach out to residents of their constituencies.

While AAP MLA from Malviya Nagar Somnath Bharti held a slew of meetings in his constituency, Delhi’s new Transport Minister Gopal Rai conducted a rally in his Babarpur constituency.

“We had many meetings in the area on Sunday, starting from a meeting with early morning joggers in two parks — something that Somnathji has been doing for the past one year. He met residents of Khirki, listened to their problems and even resolved issues related to electricity,” an AAP volunteer said.

In Patparganj constituency, Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia conducted a rally to “thank” his voters in Khichripur and Mayur Vihar area. In a six-hour long rally, Sisodia met scores of residents and thanked them for voting for “clean politics”. “I salute your spirit and courage for supporting honest politics,” he tweeted.

Similarly, other Delhi ministers conducted rallies. While Rai decided to travel in an auto-rickshaw, Women and Child Welfare Minister Sandeep Kumar and Law Minister Jitendra Tomar went door-to-door to meet residents.
