4 arrested for partying with fireworks, cutting cake on elevated road in Noida

The police took action after a video went viral on social media.

Gautam Buddha Nagar police Sunday arrested four persons for partying with fireworks and cutting cake on the elevated road in sector-24 police area.

The police took action after a video went viral on social media, where a group of people were seen celebrating a birthday by setting off fireworks and cutting cake on the bonnet of the car on an elevated road. The incident took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

The accused, all residents of Noida, have been identified as Lalit Sharma (22), Deepak Patel (25), Shekhar Chaudhary (27) and Tarun Sharma (26). The police have also seized their car.

“A video of fireworks on elevated road under Police Station-24 went viral on Sunday morning. In that video, some men were seen setting off fireworks on the road and celebrating their birthday. Taking immediate cognizance of the matter, the four men have been arrested. Along with this, his Brezza vehicle has been seized. Other legal proceedings are underway,” said Shakti Mohan Avasthy, ADCP, Noida.

Officials also said that police will be taking possible actions to avoid such cases in the future.
