Two people were shot at by a man on a motorcycle after an argument broke out between them in a market in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar on Friday.

According to the police, the injured have been identified as Digvijay alias Sajan and Vicky. Both men were rushed to the DDU Hospital where they are receiving treatment.

The police said the shooting took place at Tilak Nagar Market on Friday night when the two victims were in a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle, with a third man sitting in the back, after they had an argument with a man who was on a motorcycle.

An officer said a woman was sitting pillion with the man on the bike during the shooting. While Digvijay received injuries on his thighs and Vikas in his underarms, the third person escaped unharmed. The accused fled the spot after the shooting.

The police said Digvijay and Vikas, who are financiers and residents of West Delhi’s Chander Vihar, are currently unfit for statement. Once they can give a statement, the motive behind the incident will be ascertained.

A case of attempt to murder has been lodged and CCTV footage is being scanned, said a police officer.
