Support from family can help woman chart her career path: Kiran Bedi

Women empowerment is in the hands of women. One of the major obstacles faced is running the house while also charting the career path.

For this,Home Care Services,wherein women especially girls could be trained for various functions of the home and even boys could be trained to take care of elder male members such as grandfather. Facility of such good home care services would help women pursue her career,empower another woman to contribute her services thus creating a win-win situation for both,” said Dr Kiran Bedi,who was the chief guest for women empowerment seminar conducted today at Indo-Global Colleges in Mohali.

She lamented on the decreasing female ratio especially in the northern states. She asked opinion leaders present in the auditorium to work towards the cause of women empowerment as it is of paramount importance for the development of the nation.

The other panelists were Anupama Arya of Mobera Systems,Dr Vaneeta Aggarwal,Jaspreet Nijher,Dr Shilpa Suri and Manav Singla. Anupama Arya spoke on economic empowerment of women and how women should strive to carve out a niche for themselves by becoming equal partner in the house. She spoke on the difficulties that women encounter in the work place and on solutions to overcome the challenges that are faced.

The Seminar was attended by more five hundred people from the tricity who were all ears for the words of wisdom from Dr Kiran Bedi.
