SAD leaders not allowed to enter Daduwal’s native village

Roori happens to be the native village of Sirsa MP Charanjeet Singh Roori, who was earlier sitting SAD MLA of Kallianwali.

It is more a door-to-door campaign this time by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Kallianwali constituency, where joint candidate of SAD and INLD Balkaur Singh is contesting. After facing protest at Mishrdi village in Dabwali constituency, yesterday evening, SAD leadership was not allowed to enter in Dadu — the native village of Baljit Singh Daduwal. Balkaur, along with SAD leader Balwinder Singh Bhunder and other supporters, had reached the village to seek support, however Daduwal’s supporters told them to leave the village or face protest. Daduwal had been granted bail yesterday by the High Court and his supporters said that he will be reaching his village soon after being released and on October 10, they have even planned a protest rally against SAD in Mandi Kallianwali.

Apart from this, even in Roori village SAD leaders were questioned about their previous term’s promises. Roori happens to be the native village of Sirsa MP Charanjeet Singh Roori, who was earlier sitting SAD MLA of Kallianwali. Rajinder Singh, one of the voters in Mandi Kallianwali said: “Last time during vidhan sabha elections, SAD leaders had given us their phone numbers, which were however Haryana numbers and they never worked after the polls were over. So when the previous promises have not been fulfilled, how can they seek votes again.”

Meanwhile, SAD leaders claimed that they were getting good response from rural as well as urban areas. Dr Om Parkash Sharma, district president of SAD from Bathinda, said that SAD leaders from Bathinda, Mansa, Faridkot , Ferozepur and Muktsar have reached Kallianwali and the constituency has been divided into 13 zones.

Each cabinet minister and a senior SAD leader is heading each zone. Ministers Sikander Singh Maluka, Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sarup Chand Singla and many others have reached the constituency to campaign for the SAD candidate, said Maluka who even stated that the party was confident of winning this seat once again.
