Punjab to get grievance cell for electricity complaints,says Sukhbir

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday gave his nod for setting up a round-the-clock helpline to redress complaints related to power.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday gave his nod for setting up a round-the-clock helpline to redress complaints related to power.

Sukhbir asked the chief secretary to set up the helpline within a few months. Sukhbir,along with other bureaucrats,also visited the Indian School of Business ,the venue for the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investors Summit. Reviewing the status of the arrangements for the summit to be held on December 9 and 10,he said complaints related to power were highest after the complaints against police. A helpline on the lines of 181 helpline would be set up to resolve electricity complaints.

Sukhbir further said for setting up of new business or industrial ventures,approvals and clearances related to power sector would be provided online on the day the applications are received. He said Secretary,Power Anirudh Tiwari has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer,Bureau and would now grant industry-related clearances.
