Congress MLA from Bholath Sukhpal Singh Khaira and Akali Dal leaders Bikram Singh Majithia and Parambans Singh Romana on Wednesday questioned the “badlav” (change) the ruling AAP promised as they referred to a video on social media where Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s wife Gurpreet Kaur is seen accorded a welcome by Patiala deputy commissioner Sakshi Sawhney and Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police Varun Sharma.
The video shows Gurpreet Kaur arriving in a cavalcade with two police escort gypsy vehicles ahead and Sakshi and Varun approaching to welcome her as she gets down from the car. The video which surfaced on social media on Wednesday relates to 84th martyrdom day commemoration of Shaheed Udham Singh in Sanour on Monday (July 31) organised by AAP MLA from Sanour Harmit Singh Pathanmajra and Shaheed Udham Singh Welfare Society, Sanour.
Dr Gurpreet Kaur was the chief guest for the commemorative function to pay tributes to the freedom fighter at Shaheed Udham Singh Park. Khaira said, “While in opposition @BhagwantMann spared no opportunity to condemn Badals & @capt_amarinder for promoting dynastic politics although their family members were elected representatives but his wife who is just a housewife has the entire district administration including Dc & Ssp at her attendance, is this BADLAV in politics @ArvindKejriwal & Co?”
