Eight people, including four women, died and 26 were injured Friday when a private bus crashed through the railing of a bridge and plunged into a drain amid heavy rain in Punjab’s Bathinda district Friday. The dead include the driver of the bus.
The vehicle, belonging to New Guru Kanshi Transport Company, was on way to Bathinda from Sardulgarh in Mansa and had 44 passengers apart from driver and conductor on board when it plunged into the Lissara drain at Jeewan Singhwala village, police said.
