Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Monday said the state will benefit by nearly Rs 4,000 crore annually from the recent GST reforms introduced by the Union government.
During the launch of the statewide GST Bachat Utsav in Ladwa, Saini highlighted that “the reforms announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would simplify life for consumers and support traders by reducing GST (Goods and Services Tax) rates on indigenous products, promoting both ease of doing business and transparency in trade.”
Thereafter, Saini interacted with shopkeepers and traders, explaining the details of the new GST structure as part of the BJP’s nationwide campaign held on Monday.
Saini further emphasised the importance of spreading awareness about these reforms by launching a GST awareness campaign in the state.
“The campaign, which runs until October 15, 2025, will involve public representatives, trade associations, and social media outreach to promote Swadeshi goods and educate both traders and the public on the new tax structure. The GST reforms would strengthen Haryana’s economy and improve the state’s standing as a trade hub,” Saini said.
In a separate event, Saini participated in the Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti celebrations in Panchkula, where he noted that both the central and state governments are following the path set by the Maharaja, focusing on inclusive development.
Drawing parallels with Maharaja Agrasen’s tradition of supporting the community, Saini highlighted the government’s various schemes aimed at self-reliance for individuals and traders.
Saini also highlighted several state government initiatives like the Haryana Vyapari Kalyan Board, e-refund facilities for traders, and the Mukhyamantri Shehri Swamitva Yojana, aimed at empowering traders and small entrepreneurs.
In his address at Panchkula, Saini mentioned the establishment of GST Facilitation Cells in Gurgaon and Panchkula that provide support to start-ups and MSMEs. He also discussed efforts to create an industry-friendly environment in Haryana through the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ ecosystem.
