Haryana Police opposes handing over case to CBI

The Haryana Police on Thursday filed a status report strongly opposing a CBI probe demanded by the father of the deceased,Jyoti,who was allegedly murdered by a Congress MLA,Ram Kumar Chaudhary,on November 22.

The Haryana Police on Thursday filed a status report strongly opposing a CBI probe demanded by the father of the deceased,Jyoti,who was allegedly murdered by a Congress MLA,Ram Kumar Chaudhary,on November 22.

Buti Ram,Jyoti’s father had moved the High Court requesting the probe in Jyoti’s murder case to be handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Following this,the Punjab and Haryana High Court had directed the Panchkula Police to submit the status report by April 9.

24-year old Jyoti a resident of Hoshiarpur,was found dead in Panchkula on November 22 last year.

The postmortem report of Jyoti confirmed that Jyoti had terminated her pregnancy some months before her death.

After examining Jyoti’s cell phone records,it was found that Jyoti was in constant contact with the Doon MLA,Ram Kumar Chaudhary,and his accomplices. Panchkula police had arrested six people,including the MLA,in this case who were later chargesheeted.
