Earlier, the Haryana government had mentioned October 15 as the date for the swearing-in ceremony in Panchkula. However, Saini’s close aides had mentioned that they were awaiting confirmation on PM Modi’s availability.
Asked about the priorities of the new government, Khattar said that the first meeting of the new cabinet would discuss the party’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ in which the BJP had made poll promises. “It has been the BJP’s tradition, it has delivered what it has promised,” he added.
Khattar said that the Haryana Assembly election results would have an impact on the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls too. “Any election is not a solitary event. It impacts the neighbourhood along with having an impact on the country. The victory of Haryana has its message for the state and the country that the policies and the style of functioning of Modi ji have an impact in the state and the country,” Khattar said.
Meanwhile, the Haryana government has formed a 10-member committee of officers under the chairmanship of the Panchkula deputy commissioner to oversee the arrangements of the swearing-in ceremony.
A close associate of Saini had said that a few ministers would also take oath along with the chief minister. Apart from Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states will also participate in the event, he had added.
