Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 40,registered an easy 119-run against Government Senior Secondary School,Mouli Jagran,in the UT inter school cricket tournament for under-19 boys played at Government High School,Sector 19,on Friday.
Batting first,GMSSS-20 scored 186 runs in 20 overs. Tara Dutt top scored for the team with a superb knock of 67 runs. In reply,GSSS Nouli Jagran were bundled out for 47. In another match,St Joseph’s School,Sector 44,beat Government Model High School,Vikas Nagar. In reply to GMHS Vikas Nagars score of 106 runs in 20 overs,St Josephs-44 scored 107 runs in 19.2 overs.
Meanwhile,at St John’s-26,Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 21,defeated Government Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 10 by 13 runs. GMSSS-21 batted first and scored 121 runs. Aquas top scored with a 28-ball 42. Paramjeet and Gaurav bagged three wickets each for GMSSS-10. In reply,GMSSS-10 made 108 for 8 to register victory. Ajay Kumar bagged four wickets. In another match,Moti Ram Arya School,Sector 27 lost to Bhavan Vidyalaya,Sector 27 by 127 runs. Batting first,Bhavan Vidyalaya scored 174 for 7 in 20 overs. Chasing the target,Moti Ram Arya were shot out for 46 runs.
MDAV Public School,Sector 22 scored a win by four points and one turn in a match in the U-14 girls’ category in the UT inter-school kho-kho tournament on Friday. In another match in the same category,Government High School,Sector 45 scored a win by 12 points and a turn over GMHS-43. In the U-14 boys’ category,GMHS-46 scored a win by 14 points and one innings over CRB School,Sector 7.
In the UT Inter-School Yoga Championship,Government High School,Sector 25 claimed the title in the U-17 boys category. GMHS,Vikas Nagar claimed the second spot.
In the Pre Nehru Hockey Tournament,GMSS-44 scored a 6-5 win over GMSS,Maloya.
