In the city to address a rally in favour of party candidate Sanjay Tandon, Bharatiya Janata Party National President J P Nadda, lashed out at the INDIA bloc, saying that “either half of them were on bail or were in jail.” He also alluded to the bail granted to Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Friday.

Sanjay Tandon is pitted against INDIA alliance candidate Manish Tewari.

Taking at potshot at the INDIA alliance, Nadda said, “I have informed about myself, my party, and my candidate, but we should also know who we are fighting with…I will let you know…”

“This arrogant alliance INDIA alliance… what is it? It’s an alliance of two things: one, they have no concern for you; all these parties are only out to save their own families. Second, Modi ji says ‘weed out corruption,’ and they say ‘save the corrupt.’ They are all corrupt.”

Nadda alleged that there were scams after scams during the Congress regime, and even “the city’s own previous MP was involved in a scam.” He also mentioned scams allegedly involving Akhilesh Yadav, Lalu Prasad, TMC leaders, DMK leaders, and others.

“Alright, you tell me… is Sonia Gandhi on bail or not, is Rahul Gandhi on bail or not, is P Chidambaram on bail or not, is Kartik Chidambaram on bail or not, is Sanjay Singh on bail or not… all of them are on bail. You tell me… today only he has come… Arvind Kejriwal, else was he in jail or not… Manish Sisodia is in jail or not, Satyendar Jain is in jail or not… Either half of them are on bail or are in jail. All of them are corrupt… would you let these people lead? They don’t have any concern for you… they don’t have any concern for your development; they are just concerned with their family’s development. Nowadays, they are saying unemployment is there… absolutely, you all have become unemployed,” Nadda said.

Listing the work done by BJP, Nadda said there is an international airport here and the railway station is also being redone at Rs 550 crore. “People won’t be able to differentiate between the airport and the railway station.” He also mentioned that PGI is getting a Rs 900 crore budget and a new campus.
