A wanted Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist, Parminder Singh alias Pindi, has been extradited from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said the extradition was possible due to the efforts of the Punjab Police and the close coordination and support of central agencies.

Pindi is a close aide of foreign-based terrorists Harwinder Singh alias Rinda and Happy Passia and is allegedly involved in multiple heinous crimes, including petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults and extortions in the Batala-Gurdaspur region.

‘Punjab has zero tolerance towards terrorism’

Acting on a Red Corner Notice (RCN) requested by Batala Police, a four-member team led by a senior police officer travelled to the UAE on September 24. It coordinated with the Ministry of External Affairs and UAE authorities, completed all legal formalities, and successfully brought the accused back to face justice.

“This successful extradition underscores Punjab Police’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and organised crime as well as its advanced investigative capabilities and global reach. We are thankful to the central agencies, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Government of the United Arab Emirates for their invaluable cooperation in this joint effort to uphold justice and strengthen national security,” said DGP Yadav.

An RCN is an international alert issued by Interpol at the request of a member country (in this case, India) to locate and provisionally arrest individuals wanted for serious crimes, including terrorism, pending extradition.

Based on reliable reports from Indian law enforcement agencies like the Punjab Police, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), several individuals linked to Punjab-based terrorism—primarily Khalistani separatist groups such as BKI, Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), and Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF)—have active RCNs against them. These are fugitives accused of orchestrating attacks, targeted killings, and terror funding in Punjab.
