All the 21 candidates contesting the Adampur Assembly byelection have been issued notices for some discrepancies found in their election expenditure accounts during inspections by the election expenditure observer on November 18 and 23.
Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Sumita Misra said that candidates replies to these notices were still awaited.
She said that all candidates were strictly directed to keep accounts of their election expenses as per provisions prescribed under sections 77 and 78 of Representation of People Act,1951.
The election expenditure observer appointed by the Election Commission of India had fixed three dates for inspection of candidates accounts.
The dates were November 18,23 and 29.
Shadow registers had also been prepared at the level of expenditure observer. Misra added that some discrepancies were pointed out by the expenditure observer during inspection of candidates expenditure accounts.
Meanwhile the duty magistrate,Adampur Assembly constituency,has so far impounded eight vehicles engaged in unauthorised campaigning.
A total of 1,38,221 voters including 63,265 female voters will exercise their franchise for the byelection to Adampur Assembly constituency on November 30 as against 1,29,790 voters in 2009. The number of voters here has increased by 8,431.
Misra said that a total of 272 service voters including 96 female service voters would also cast their votes. 159 polling booths have been set up in the constituency. 55 polling booths in ten villages have been identified as hyper sensitive and 31 polling booths in 15 villages have been labelled sensitive.
She added that seven companies of paramilitary forces have reached the constituency.
Also,55 police nakas have been set up at sensitive points where 440 constables have been deputed. 14,068 licenced arms have been deposited and 210 non-bailable warrants were executed in the constituency by November 23.
