At least 62 domestic LPG cylinders were today confiscated by a raiding team of the district administration led by the Patiala SDM,which raided a number of marriage palaces,hotels and restaurants in the town. There is an acute shortage of domestic LPG these days and consumers are crying hoarse over the misuse of domestic LPG for commercial purposes. Among the hotels raided include Jiwan Plaza hotel from where five domestic LPG cylinders were confiscated,Kaka Hotel and Green Hotel from where four cylinders each were confiscated,Locham Hotel and Grand Palace Hotel (two cylinders each confiscated),Raj Kamal marriage palace from nine domestic LPG cylinders were confiscated,Kohinoor palace (three cylinders),Pal Courts (two cylinders),Spring Fields marriage palace (seven cylinders),Sandhu Palace (three cylinders) and the rest from small dhabas and sweet shops across the city. The raids were carried out throughout the day. The misuse of loudspeakers,on which the district authorities have imposed a ban from 10 p m to 6 a m at night has been imposed,were also confiscated from a number of places and the violators were challaned.
