10-year-old killed as BMW crashes into tree in Chandigarh 

His father was at the wheel when the accident took place due to dense fog

A 10-years-old boy died while his father received injuries after the BMW car they were riding collided with a tree, here on the night intervening Thursday and Friday, near Hallo Majra, Chandigarh.

As per Police, the victim  has been identified as Amang, who was sitting on the co-driver seat with his father Abel Verma, a resident of Sector 27, Chandigarh.

The accident took place at around 1.30 AM, when they were returning from Zirakpur, and crossing from the Hallo Majra light point. As they reached near the Hallo Majra light point, their car first struck the road berm, and then hit a tree.

Due to the impact of the accident, the car got damaged, and the victims received injuries.

The victims were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Sector-32, where the child succumbed to injuries.

The Police meanwhile have initiated an investigation into the matter at Sector 31 Police Station, and have registered a FIR. The Police is scrutinising the CCTV footage to ascertain how the accident took place.
