A man from Uttar Pradesh residing in Bengaluru for the past 12 years was found murdered in the Karnataka capital on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Sarvesh Singh, 28, a sweet and snacks seller. A police officer said the murder took place near a liquor shop at Konappana Agrahara late Sunday night.

The police have arrested Rahul Kumar, 27, and Sahadev Turi, 45 – both migrant workers from the Chatra district in Jharkhand – for the crime.

A police officer said the accused and the deceased did not know each other but an argument broke out between them while they were entering a bar. Later, Singh again had an argument with the two accused while buying cigarettes from an adjacent shop.

The police officer added that the two accused could have hit Singh on his head with cobblestones under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the victim’s death.

Singh’s body was discovered by passersby who informed the police. The Electronics City police have registered a murder case and are further investigating the matter.
