Karnataka Lokayukta finds Rs 35-crore unaccounted assets during raids on 13 officials

Assets worth a staggering Rs 11.13 crore were found with Nagarajappa, assistant director for town planning of the Magadi planning authority in Ramanagara district. The assets are a site, six houses, 13 acres of land valued Rs 10.37 crore, Rs 11.50 lakh in cash, ornaments of Rs 25 lakh and vehicles worth Rs 40 lakh.

These include two sites, two houses, two commercial complexes, 2.5 acres of agricultural land valued at Rs 6.15 crore. Rs 7 lakh in cash, ornaments worth Rs 31.86 lakh, vehicles worth Rs 36 lakh and Rs 24 lakh in fixed deposits were also found.

Raids at five places belonging to Ranganath SP, chief engineer of BBMP Yelahanka zone, threw up Rs 5.28 crore’s worth of unaccounted assets. These include two sites, two houses, two commercial complexes, 2.5 acres of agricultural land valued at Rs 6.15 crore. Rs 7 lakh in cash, ornaments worth Rs 31.86 lakh, vehicles worth Rs 36 lakh and Rs 24 lakh in fixed deposits were also found.
