The Bengaluru police have arrested four persons, including the manager of Kannada film actor Dhruva Sarja, for allegedly attacking a fitness trainer in May.
The arrested have been identified as Ashwin, the manager, Nagendra, the driver, and Subbu and Harsha, who assaulted Prashanth Poojari on May 26. Incidentally, Poojari was the fitness trainer of Sarja.
Bengaluru city police commissioner B Dayananda on Tuesday confirmed that the arrests were made in this regard. According to a police officer, on May 26, Poojari was assaulted by two bike-borne assailants on K R Road in Banashankari second stage when he was returning home.
Poojari then filed a police complaint where he identified the attackers as Subbu and Harsha. The police had registered a case under Sections 41 (wrongful restraint) and 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Initially, Harsha and Subbu were arrested, who later revealed the name of Nagendra.
Dayananda said Ashwin and Nagendra were unhappy with the growing proximity between Poojari and Sarja and decided to attack the fitness trainer.
A police officer said, “All the four are out on bail. Nagendra had asked Subbu and Harsha to attack Poojari at Ashwin’s behest.”
