Prem Vir Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police at Ahmedabad’s Detection of Crime Branch, has been given the additional charge as the city police commissioner, with incumbent police chief Sanjay Shrivastava set to retire on Sunday. Shrivastava, a 1987-batch officer, was appointed the commissioner of police on August 3, 2020.
A notification from the state home department said that Singh, a 2005-batch officer, will hold the additional charge “till further orders”.
