The pre-bid meeting for the redevelopment of Ahmedabad railway station held by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) concluded Monday.
The meeting – held both online as well as in offline mode – was attended by all prospective bidders, vendors as well as officials of the RLDA. Construction firms such as L&T, NCC Ltd, GR Infra, Dilip Buildcon, PSP Projects, AFCONS, KEC International, Thoth Infrastructure Ltd, IRCON, Ayesa India Pvt Ltd, Adishwaram Corporation, Tirumala Seven Hills Pvt Ltd, SID Constructions, ITD CEM Co, Jindal Steel Power, PDA Consultant, etc, participated in the meeting.
The Ahmedabad station will be redeveloped in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) mode at an estimated cost of Rs 2,563 crore. The last date for submission of e-bid is September 5, 2023, up to 15:00 hrs and the date of opening of e-bids (technical) is September 8, 2023, at 15:30 hrs.
RLDA Vice Chairman Ved Parkash Dudeja said, “The redevelopment of Ahmedabad station is amongst our flagship projects which will integrate different modes of transport such as High Speed, Metro, BRT, Railways etc. while protecting the heritage structures. The station will be equipped with modern amenities for passengers and other visitors and will act as a new city centre. With the pre-bid meeting, we are one step closer to the redevelopment of this important station.”
The revamped Ahmedabad station will feature a spacious roof plaza with a range of passenger amenities. It will have retail spaces, cafeterias, and recreational facilities, providing convenience and enjoyment for travellers. The station will be constructed on both sides of the railway tracks, connecting both halves of the city.
