The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will preside over the ongoing second phase of training session of the newly appointed District Congress Committees (DCC) presidents in Junagadh on Friday.
Confirming Gandhi’s visit, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Chavda told The Indian Express, “The expected arrival of Rahul Gandhi at Keshod Airport is 1.30 pm from where he will reach the venue by road.”
Gandhi is scheduled to stay in Junagadh for over four hours during which he will address the DCC Presidents at the internal sessions before leaving for Delhi from Porbandar airport.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched the party’s 10-day training session for the newly appointed Gujarat DCC presidents under the ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’ at Prerna Dham Ashram in Junagadh on Wednesday.
The first such three-day training session of Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan was launched by Rahul Gandhi in Anand last month.
The campaign is aimed at empowering the DCC presidents to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level through sustained public outreach, and exploring avenues to build the cadre. Similar intensive training sessions will be conducted in other states in the future under the Sangathan Srijan campaign, party leaders stated.
