CHARUSAT Hospital has inaugurated the “Dr Arun Dahyabhai Patel & Dr. Anjana Arun Patel (Changa/USA) CT Scan Centre”, equipped with an advanced Cardiac CT Scanner system. This system is designed for timely diagnosis of heart diseases and is capable of performing Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring and CT Angiograms. The CHARUSAT trust honored USA-based philanthropists Dr. Arun Dahyabhai Patel and Dr. Anjana Arun Patel, native of Anand district’s Changa, with the Daan Bhaskar Award. They donated ₹3.15 crore for the CT Scan Centre, which was unveiled and inaugurated in a ceremony.
The 37th Daan Bhaskar Award function was presided over by Surendrabhai Patel, KelavaniMandal – CHARUSAT President.
“The uCT 550 – 80 SliceCardiac CT Scanner System, donated by the Patels, is capable of Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring and CT Angiograms. With this facility, CHARUSAT Hospital has become the first hospital across the country to offer such advanced cardiac diagnostic care. The system will help in early detection of blockages and prevent heart attacks,fulfilling the donor couple’s vision of saving lives in the Charotar region,” the hospital said in a statement, adding that Dr ArunPatel, who has been practising medicine in California, for over 34 years, had “dreamed of bringing advanced diagnostic care to his hometown”.
During the event, Dr Arjun Patel said, “This award is an honour for us. With timely diagnosis, lives can be saved, and in the future, we envision building a Centre of Excellence with angiogram, angioplasty, and bypass surgery facilities.”
CHARUSAT Sanhita, a book compiled by Principal RV Patel, featuring stories of 53 Daan Bhaskar Award recipients so far was also released during the event. The Daan BhaskarAward recognises significant contributions to education, healthcare, and social initiatives.
