At 51mm, Talod in Sabarkantha recorded the highest amount of rainfall in the state followed by Dhansura in Aravalli (44 mm), Tilakwada in Narmada (42 mm), and Umbergaon and Kaprada in Valsad (39 and 37 mm, respectively) as Gujarat continued to receive rainfall on Thursday due to an active southwest monsoon.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a very heavy rainfall warning for northern districts and parts of Saurashtra till August 25.
As per State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), Gujarat has received 76% rainfall as on Thursday.
Besides, 70 dams in the state are on high alert, 35 on alert, and 16 on warning alert.
Among regions, South Gujarat has seen 78.99% rainfall, followed by 78.81% in Kutch, 76.36% in Saurashtra, and 74.67% in North Gujarat. The least amount of average rainfall, 71.97%, has been recorded in East-Central, as per SEOC, Gandhinagar.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Sabarkantha, Aravalli and Mahisagar along with Kutch on Friday while Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Amreli and Bhavnagar are under an orange alert on Saturday.
Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Amreli and Bhavnagar are expected to receive very heavy rainfall on August 24. Aravalli, Dahod, Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur, Surendranagar, Bhavnagar and Botad are expected to receive very heavy rainfall on August 25. Remaining parts of Gujarat are expected to receive heavy rainfall.
