A recent comment of BJP Jetpur MLA and Patidar leader, Jayesh Radadiya ,during a mass wedding function of 511 girls from the community, in Rajkot district’s Jamkandorna has become a talking point within the Patidar community. Radadiya, a former minister in the state government, had stated that “2% tapori gang (ruffian gang) of the community” was creating hurdles in good works being done. The wedding function was organised in the memory of Jayesh’s late father and Patidar stalwart leader Vithhal Radadiya. While Jayesh did not name anyone, it is believed that he was taking a veiled attack at his political rivals within the community. The use of the words ‘tapori gang’ has evoked mixed response from the community. Some are terming it “immature” behaviour on Jayesh’s part while others are saying that he must have spoken after due consideration, adding what he said “is true”.
Uday Kotak, the Founder of Kotak Mahindra Bank, put a question in front of “his friend” and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani during the Pandit Deendayal Energy University convocation asking the reason as to why his sector was ‘left out’. “You’ve looked at all the areas. Why is it that my little area of finance is not finding any mention so far in the history of PDEU. You have looked at law, you have looked at space. Time has come for finance, and the reason why time has come for finance is also because of amalgamation and merger of finance and technology, the two of them are now deeply embedded together, and therefore, I hope at some point of time, this outstanding institution also considers embarking upon a journey in financial services and technology to complete its full armoury of what it offers to students, to India and the world,” Kotak proposed to Ambani and the Board of Governors.
