After opening flat, domestic markets ended high for the fifth straight day, led by gains in PowerGrid, Tata Cosumers, Nestle India, and IndusInd Bank. BSE benchmark Sensex ended 170 points, or 0.28 per cent higher at 60,300.58, meanwhile, broader NSE Nity50 ended 44.35 points, or 0.25 per cent to 17,813.60.
Realty, FMCG, and auto stocks lifted the equities today, as PowerGrid, Tata Consumers, Nestle India, IndusInd Bank, SBI Life, Hindustan Unilever, HCL Technologies, Tata Motors and SBI were among the top gaining stocks today.
On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv, Hindalco, Adani Ports, Bajaj Auto, NTPC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Wipro and Reliance Industries were among the top gainers today.
Maruti Suzuki ended nearly flat, up 0.10 per cent after the leading automaker announced 42 per cent rise in its net profit for the fourth quarter. The company’s revenue from operations also jumped 20 per cent to Rs 32,048 crore.
Nifty realty jumped 1.36 per cent today, followed by Nifty FMCG gained 0.71 per cent, and Nifty Auto at 0.53 per cent.
Metal stocks were the top losers today, as the sector tanked 0.44 per cent. Meanwhile, Nifty oil and gas and Nifty Healthcare Index each fell 0.03 per cent.
Broader markets also extended today’s rally, as Nifty Smallcap 50 gained 0.75 per cent, while, Nifty Smallcap 250 gained 0.55 per cent. Nifty Next 50 rose 0.39 per cent, Nifty Smallcap 100 jumped 0.46 per cent.
