Luminous a power & energy storage company,now forays into the fast-growing mobile handset market with a commitment of over 25 million USD as initial capital investment.
The company plans to roll out its mobile handsets through brand Wynncom under the separate entity named Wynn Telecom Limited. Wynn Telecom will intend to offer products on both ends of the spectrum,which would be distinct as they will come pre-equipped with VAS and yet qualify as value for money products.
This move is a part of the companys strategy to offer more consumer products under the umbrella of convergence and the company aims to capture a place among the top brands, said Rakesh Malhotra,Co-Founder and Chairman,Wynn Telecom Ltd.
The company is determined to establishing itself in the existing space through the most experienced and automated sales and product teams in the industry,and has also established a product,quality and project team in Shenzhen to look after the on-ground activities. The company will be initially launching seven models of dual SIM handsets in the sub Rs 5,000 price range.
The mobile offering will be a mix of Utility phones,Upgrade Phones and Youth Phones. Utility phones will be a series of phones with a heavy-duty battery,attractive looks,Multiple language support and would be priced smartly.
