CBI Knocks On Sonam Wangchuk’s Door | MHA Accuses Him Of Provoking Protests

The CBI has opened a preliminary inquiry into alleged FCRA violations by climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and his Himalayan Institute of Alternatives Ladakh, following a Home Ministry complaint. The probe began two months ago, and Wangchuk confirmed a CBI team recently visited him with an order. The move comes amid violent statehood protests in Leh that left four dead. The MHA accused Wangchuk of inciting unrest with “provocative statements,” even as he appealed for peaceful demonstrations and ended his 15-day hunger strike.
