Iran Suspends IAEA Ties After Israeli, US Strikes On Nuclear Sites

Iran has officially suspended cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, days after Israeli and US strikes damaged multiple nuclear sites across the country. President Masoud Pezeshkian signed the law, passed earlier by parliament, blocking inspectors unless cleared by Iran’s top security body. Tehran has accused IAEA chief Rafael Grossi of bias and barred his entry, escalating tensions after Grossi’s criticism and a recent resolution accusing Iran of non-compliance. The move follows a deadly 12-day conflict that left over 900 Iranians and 28 Israelis dead, with Washington claiming its strikes had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program.
