Chaos in Parliament: Opposition Corners Govt Over Pahalgam Attack, Trump’s Claims, Operation Sindoor

Day one of the Monsoon Session saw dramatic scenes in both Houses of Parliament. The opposition, led by the Congress, demanded answers from the government on three key issues — the deadly Pahalgam attack and the missing terrorists, the sudden halt of Operation Sindoor, and repeated claims by U.S. President Donald Trump that he mediated peace talks between India and Pakistan. They insist that Prime Minister Narendra Modi be present and answer these pressing questions. Meanwhile, the government, citing rules and procedure, says it's ready for discussion — but not on opposition’s terms. While the Lok Sabha was adjourned early, the Rajya Sabha continued business and even passed the Bills of Lading Bill 2025, despite a walkout by opposition MPs. The impasse looks set to continue through the week.
