Xiaomi Mi 5 is all set to launch in India on March 31. The smartphone will be unveiled with some top-end specs, including Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful Snapdragon 820 processor. Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 5.15-inch full HD display and comes in three variants – 3GB+32GB, 3GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB storage options. While the smartphone launched at 1999 Yuan (approx. Xiaomi Mi 5, if announced starting at under Rs 25,000 will give some serious competition to some premium phones, including the iPhone 6 and more. Moto X Style, OnePlus 2, Samsung S6, Nexus 5X etc offer high-end specs in this price bracket. Xiaomi will try and position itself in this segment, but at a relatively cheaper price-point. A lot of people, who are wiling to spend Rs 30,000 or slightly above still go for iPhone 6, thanks to the price-cut. The 16 GB version of the smartphone is available at Rs 34,999 and makes for a brilliant option given the price-point. Apple smartphone is powered by A8 chip, and has a 4.7-inch Retina display, a resolution that was retained for iPhone 6s too. Read more here
OnePlus 2 is another such smartphone that has could find tough competition in the new Xiaomi Mi 5. In our review, we said that OnePlus 2 we loved the camera of the smartphone, although the overall performance didn't live up to expectations after a month. We called LG Nexus 5X as the pure Android beast in our review. The smartphone starts at Rs 27,999 for the 16 GB version and comes with a great camera, fast fingerprint scanner coupled with a smooth experience. This one features a 5.2-inch display with full HD resolution and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. Once again the Mi 5 might prove to be a tough competitor for the Nexus 5X.
